Pathway Training
These weekends offer high-quality coaching, focused on improving technique, tactics, and performance on the water. The Weekend is open to sailors from all clubs. - Take part in the full two-day programme, or drop in for a single day of top-quality coaching.
Description
Led by experienced race coaches, the weekend provides a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your boat handling, develop race strategies, and gain valuable experience. Sailors will be coached in 2 groups, split by ability.
Open to sailors from all clubs and pathway classes.
Supported classes; Optimist, Tera, Topper, ILCA, Feva, 29er and 420.
Group 1
- For sailors who are currently in an RYA Junior or Youth Squad
Group 2
- For sailors who have completed their RYA Start Racing (or equivalent experience)
- Been sailing for at least 1 year
- Be capable of rigging and launching with minor assistance
Instructor to Student ratio
1 Instructor to 8 Sailors
Prerequisites
- RYA Start Racing module (or equivalent experience) and be comfortable around a course independently
- Have been sailing regularly at a club for at least one season
- Be able to launch and recover their boat (with some support)
What to bring
- Towel
- Spare clothes
- Lunch
- Wetsuit boots/ old shoes
- Your own boat
- Wetsuit
- Raincoat/Waterproofs
- Any sailing kit you already own
- Sunglasses, Sun hat, Sunscreen, Water bottle
- Warm hat, Extra layers
What we provide
- Wetsuit (small range of sizes available)
- Waterproof trousers and coat
- Buoyancy aid
If sailors need to use one of our Club boats for a weekend, this can be arranged.
