Description

Pirates Its all about fun, freedom and time on the water.  With games, mini-races, skill challenges and themed activities, sailors can expect a fun-focused, confidence building, time on the water with friends. 

For more competitive sailors, its also a chance to mix things up - try different boats, experiment with new skills and enjoy sailing without the pressure of formal training or racing.

Instructor to Student ratio

1 Instructor to 8 Sailors

Minimum Age

8 Years Old

Prerequisites

RYA Stage 2 - or higher

What to bring

  • Towel & Spare clothes
  • Swimming costume (if wearing/borrowing a wetsuit)
  • Lunch
  • Wetsuit boots/ old shoes you don't mind getting wet
Consider bringing
 
  • Your own boat
  • Wetsuit
  • Raincoat/Waterproofs
  • Any sailing kit you already own
  • Sunglasses, Sun hat, Sunscreen, Water bottle
  • Warm hat, Extra layers

What‎ we provide

  • Opti-bat or Fusion/Pico
  • Wetsuit (small range of sizes available)
  • Waterproof trousers and coat
  • Buoyancy aid
Optimist, Topper, RS Feva, RS 2000, ILCA available to hire for a small fee
 
If borrowing a boat you haven't sailed before, please allow extra time to get rigged. Boat availability subject to weather conditions

Similar courses

This course will give you a fun introduction to the basics of sailing a small dinghy and gives you the opportunity to push yourself if you wish.

The Improver Camp builds on learning in the beginners camp, with the sailors aiming for their RYA stage 3 and State Racing of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. These camps are an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and get a lot of sailing in.

The Advanced camp builds on sailing a double handed dinghy, with the sailors aiming for their RYA Stage 4 and Sailing with Spinnakers of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme.
