The one-day RYA Level 1 Start Powerboating course is a fantastic practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats.

Covering Launch and recover, preparing the boat and crew, boat handling, picking up and securing to a buoy, leaving and coming alongside 

Perfect for novices or crew members wanting to contribute more to their time on the water.

None

Minimum Age

8 (Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate)

Instructor to Student ratio

1 Instructor to 3 Students

Course Materials

  • Powerboat Scheme Syllabus and log book
  • Level 1 Certificate

Course Content

  • Launch and recovery (8-11 year olds to observe),
  • Preparation of boat and crew,
  • Boat handling,
  • Picking up and securing to a mooring buoy,
  • Leaving and coming alongside,
  • Man overboard (theory)
