Youth Improvers Sailing Camp
The Improver Camp builds on learning in the beginners camp, with the sailors aiming for their RYA stage 3 and State Racing of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. These camps are an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and get a lot of sailing in.

The Improver Camp builds on learning in the beginners camp, with the sailors aiming for their RYA stage 3 and State Racing of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. These camps are an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and get a lot of sailing in.
Course Content
Aiming to complete the RYA Stage 3 and RYA Start Racing courses.
- Stage 3: Improved rigging, sailing theory, launching and recovery. Building confidence in a range of sailing techniques on all points of sail and capsize recovery
- Start Racing: All the skills required to start club racing, including basic start sequences and timing; improved tacking and gybing, using the 5 essentials to best effect and having a basic understanding of the racing rules

RYA Stage 2 certificate

- RYA Logbook
- Towel
- Spare clothes
- Lunch
- Wetsuit boots/ old shoes
Consider bringing
- Wetsuit
- Raincoat/Waterproofs
- Any sailing kit you already own
- Sunglasses, Sun hat, Sunscreen, Water bottle
- Warm hat, Extra layers
